One of the best things to happen to home cooks is the internet. Now we are all just a few clicks away a world class meal. Lucky for us it’s a snap to bring a taste of famed recipes into our very own kitchens. No need to break the bank at a fancy restaurant or travel thousands of miles for the experience of a noteworthy chef.
This week’s inspiration comes from two of my favorite chefs. Check out Thomas Keller’s seasonal Butternut Soup, David Leibovitz’s Steak with Mustard Butter, my favorite crunchy Taquitos, and a perfect weeknight Turkey Bolognese. Your family will love these meals!
Enjoy!
Monday
Thomas Keller’s Butternut Soup is the perfect seasonal soup. A perfect Meatless Monday option and a serious contender for your holiday menu. If it doesn’t make the holiday menu, consider serving it for lunch the day of Thanksgiving. Oh, and read the directions carefully. The recipe calls for the squash to be divided by the bulb and the neck. You roast the bulb and add the neck of the squash later.

My personal chef friends fear they will be fired from families for always making the same thing. I assure them that kids are big on repeats and want foods that are familiar to them. My Taquitos have been on replay around here since my kids were toddlers. They still love them today as much as when they were little guys. We add a little guacamole, salsa, and Mexican Rice and everyone is happy.

David Leibovitz offers this bistro classic of Steak with a Mustard Butter. I repeat: Mustard. Butter. Grab a cast iron skillet and you’re a steak and a few ingredients away from a perfect weeknight dinner. Serve with potatoes and Roasted Broccoli.

My Turkey Bolognese is one of my all time favorite dinners. It’s totally delicious, easy to make, and my version of comfort food. It’s the perfect weeknight meal and leftovers make a great lunch the next day.
