If you went through my house you would notice right away that I like clean, minimal spaces that aren’t cluttered with things. This is most evident in the kitchen. I don’t have a big kitchen and need to be smart about how I use space. I like to use my limited counter space to work. I can’t afford to give up valuable real estate in the kitchen with things that I don’t use.
I try and think like a professional chef. I want everything I use to be within reach. I need to maximize the function of the limited space I have in my kitchen. My knives are always found in a drawer that sits under my cutting board so that they are easy to reach. My wooden spoons, spatulas, and tongs are housed in stainless steel containers next to the stovetop so I grab them easily. My flour, sugar, and spices are all in my prep area so I’m not walking all over the kitchen searching for ingredients. Because I use my kitchen so much, I make sure that everything I use has a proper home and that everything in my kitchen makes sense.
The other thing you would notice in my house is that I tend to like simple, classic, timeless pieces. I like things that are useful and get the job done. That’s why when I find something that I use in many ways, it becomes one of the items on my OBSESSED list.
Mason jars are one of those things that I reach for all the time and use in a million different ways. A mason jar is a wide-mouthed glass jar with a screw top, airtight lid. They are traditionally known for preserving fruits and vegetables but it turns out that these sturdy, classic jars are great for so many things! Mason Jars come in different sizes and are endlessly useful.
