My Favorite Pen

I am a habitual list maker. It’s something I’ve done my entire adult life. It keeps me organized and keeps my anxiety in check. There is no better feeling than knocking items off the list and then physically crossing things off. My favorite pen in the world is the Papermate Flair Felt Tip Pen. I’m never without a few of these in my bag and I have them all over my house so they are always within reach.

Here’s how I know it’s a great pen: everyone takes them! When someone “borrows” my pen, it’s just a matter of time before they ask me about the pen and I inevitably offer it to them. It’s really nothing fancy. It’s an ordinary felt tip pen that people find special. There are two reason people love it:

  1. It’s comfortable in your hand.
  2. It writes beautifully.

Be clear: this is no ball point pen. It’s a simple felt tip that glides across the paper with effortless strokes. I use these in the kitchen all the time when I am testing recipes and labeling food containers. I always label food so that I know exactly what is in the container (i.e. Chicken Stock) and date it so I know when I made it. It avoids the dreaded mystery quart roulette game. You know when you find a random quart in the freezer and start guessing what’s in it and when you made it?

I stock up on a lot of black pens but they also come in a fun grouping of assorted colors. Happy writing!

Enjoy.
