Baby, it’s cold outside! Okay, maybe it’s not as cold in Los Angeles as the rest of the country but it’s wet and cold for us. We’ve had a few storms move in the last week and it’s been super cozy bundling up in puffy coats and rain jackets. It’s also a great reason to shift into comfort food mode. When the weather changes, I like to have comforting, stick to your ribs kind of meals waiting for my family when they get home. This week is a perfect example of what I make during the winter months.
Check out this beautiful beef stew from Once Upon A Chef, classic burritos from Pioneer Woman, my favorite sausage, mushrooms, and peas pasta from Giada, and my make ahead BBQ Chicken Sandwich. It’s a seriously satisfying week of food that is like a hug for your soul.
Enjoy!
Monday
Mondays have become a combination of Survivor meets The Amazing Race. I’m running around like crazy between two different schools and basketball practices all over town. PLAN OF ACTION: make beef stew on Sunday and reheat Monday afternoon for dinner. Oh, and I’m sooo adding pearl onions and peas to this beauty!

This recipe for Pulled Chicken Sandwiches is pretty perfect. I make this in the mornings and reheat later in the day for a house that smells like heaven and a drop dead delicious dinner. My kids favor Hawaiian Rolls with this sandwich.

This pasta with sausage, mushrooms, and peas kills every time. My kids love the sausage and mushroom combination! Serve with a crusty bread and a big green salad for a solid dinner.
