I am always up for comfort food but especially during the winter months. Who wouldn’t want to come home to these delicious, stick-to-your ribs dinners? It’s been raining and cold in Los Angeles this week and I’ve been dreaming of cozy classics like beef stew, white chicken chili, meatloaf, and tostadas.

Check out these great recipes from Giada De Laurentiis,Christina Chavez, Ina Garten, and me!

Enjoy!

My kids want a beef stew without the heavy wine flavor. This comforting, old fashioned classic Beef Stew recipe delivers every time! PRO TIP: Make this on Sunday and reheat on Monday afternoon. Ladle stew over wide egg noodles so you don’t miss a drop of that gravy! Also, take your time browning the meat. Your efforts will pay off.

I love individual servings and  good meatloaf. Serve this with loads of mashed potatoes and Green Beans perfect meal. PRO TIP: make extra mashed potatoes for tomorrow night’s Potato Tostada. If you have leftover meatloaf, make meatloaf sandwiches for school lunches.

Put those left over mashed potatoes to good use with the best Potato Tostada on the planet. PRO TIP: fry your own tortillas and don’t skip over the onions soaked in lemon. Those special touches take this to the next level. Serve with a side of Mexican Rice for a perfect dinner.

I’m a huge fan of chili and I am loving White Chili this winter. Who wouldn’t want to come home to a big, simmering pot of white chicken chili? PRO TIP:  set out bowls of toppings like shredded cheese, sour cream, limes, and tortilla chips and let the kids top their bowls with the fixings. Break out the thermoses and send leftovers to school with the kiddos the next day.
