Everything in my kitchen has a place. The wooden spoons are within reach of the stovetop, the knives are in a drawer under my cutting board, and the spice jars occupy a drawer near my prep space. Everything is logically and strategically placed so that I can find things easily. There is nothing worse than disrupting the rhythm of cooking to go on a crazy-making scavenger hunt for a thermometer.
As much as I appreciate things that are functional, I love things that are beautiful. The spice jars I use are both and one of my favorite kitchen finds. They are so striking that I get asked about them more than just about anything else when people come over or see them in photos. While I keep my jars in a drawer, they are so pretty I would happily display these on the counter if I had the space.
There is a lot to like about this lovely little jar. The shape of the jar is perfect and I love how pretty the spices look through the glass. Aside from the aesthetics, my favorite feature is that the mouth of the jar is wide enough to fit measuring spoons. Oh, and the labels are the best! They come with a pen that has chalkboard like ink and you can easily erase the label writing with a little Windex.
