<p>Hands down this is my favorite recipe for Pumpkin Bread. A dear family friend shared it with us when I was a little girl growing up in Kenosha, Wisconsin. I&#8217;ve been making it ever since. As soon as the calendar flips to October, this bread is on constant replay in my house. It&#8217;s simple, delicious, and addictive. Last night, my husband grabbed a slice and said, &#8220;This bread is just ridiculous.&#8221; That&#8217;s pretty much the highest baking compliment in the world from him!</p>
<p><span id="more-2296"></span></p>
<p><a href="http://everykitchentellsastory.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/10/battershot.png"><img decoding="async" class="size-full wp-image-2298 aligncenter" src="https://everykitchentellsastory.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/10/battershot.png" alt="battershot" width="800" height="681" srcset="https://everykitchentellsastory.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/10/battershot.png 800w, https://everykitchentellsastory.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/10/battershot-300x255.png 300w, https://everykitchentellsastory.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/10/battershot-768x654.png 768w, https://everykitchentellsastory.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/10/battershot-300x255@2x.png 600w" sizes="(max-width: 800px) 100vw, 800px" /></a></p>
<p>This is the kind of bread that will become a seasonal staple in your baking arsenal. I send this out as a thank you, as gifts over Thanksgiving, and of course, you know I love a clever hostess gift. If you are over the idea of gifting the dinner party hostess with a candle, this pumpkin bread is a beautiful gift. I wrap a loaf of pumpkin bread with a nice jar of pumpkin butter or orange marmalade. It makes the perfect breakfast for a busy hostess after a big night of entertaining.</p>
<p><a href="http://everykitchentellsastory.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/10/bread-shot.png"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="size-full wp-image-2299 aligncenter" src="https://everykitchentellsastory.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/10/bread-shot.png" alt="bread-shot" width="800" height="485" srcset="https://everykitchentellsastory.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/10/bread-shot.png 800w, https://everykitchentellsastory.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/10/bread-shot-300x182.png 300w, https://everykitchentellsastory.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/10/bread-shot-768x466.png 768w, https://everykitchentellsastory.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/10/bread-shot-300x182@2x.png 600w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 800px) 100vw, 800px" /></a></p>
<p>Enjoy this taste of my childhood.</p>

<p>Sometimes it’s the simple things that get the most attention. I can’t explain why but my kids are bonkers for Crostini. The base is bread, olive oil, salt, and pepper. There are so many wonderful options for Crostini, but truthfully, sometimes basic Crostini is all my kids want.</p>
<p>Seriously, as soon as I pull the sheet of Crostini from the oven, something really magical happens in my house. Video games and television shows are paused. Phone calls are wrapped up and text messaging comes to an abrupt halt. The kids descend on the kitchen as if there were some gravitational pull that leads directly to the tray of Crostini. True story: sometimes the Crostini never even hits the table if the kids get to it before dinner. I&#8217;ve turned around only to find an empty tray with a few crumbs. Truly, they love it.</p>
